Summary
Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is in compliance with this comprehensive standard. The Board of Trustees approved FTCC’s current mission statement in August 2008 (Board Minutes) and disseminated it to faculty, staff, and students on the FTCC home page.
Narrative
FTCC developed a mission statement, which is highlighted on the FTCC home page and annotated on all major FTCC publications, the Planning Guide and the Fact Book, to ensure communication with all institutional constituencies. The FTCC mission is to
“Serve our community as a learning-centered institution to build a
globally competitive workforce supporting economic development.”
In addition to the mission statement, the College’s Purpose Statement provides detailed objectives related to the College’s mission.
In accordance with the Annual Planning Cycle, the mission statement and purpose statement are reaffirmed or modified each February by the Board of Trustees.
The combination of the mission statement and purpose statement serves as a guide to all institutional operations. The mission statement is published annually in the Planning Guide and the Strategic Plan to ensure that planning units align future goals and objectives with the mission statement (Strategic Plan Institutional Goals).
