Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is in compliance with this comprehensive standard.  FTCC has a clearly defined and published organizational structure that delineates responsibility for the administration of policies.   


Narrative

FTCC defines and publishes the organizational structure and faculty and staff job descriptions in the Organizational Handbook. The institution’s administrative structure is designed to support the College’s mission and purpose.

The FTCC Board of Trustees is a body established by a legislative act of the North Carolina General Assembly (NCGS 115D-20) and possesses all of the powers for the purposes created by or that may exist under provisions of the law.  “The Board of Trustees shall establish the mission of the College and shall establish policies that provide direction to the President and other College employees engaged in the day-to-day operations of the College.  All policies shall comply with the provisions of law and the regulations of the State Board of Community Colleges,” (FTCC Board of Trustees Orientation Manual, 2008-2009).

The President is responsible for the maintenance and operation of the College, under general guidance and direction of the Board of Trustees. The Executive Council provides administrative support to the College President in fulfilling the College’s mission.

The President directly supervises the following positions:

  • Administrative Assistant to the President
  • Executive Director for the NC Military Business Center
  • Secretary to the President
  • Vice President for Academic and Student Services
  • Vice President for Administrative Services
  • Vice President for Business and Finance
  • Vice President for Human Resources
  • Vice President for Institutional Advancement
  • Vice President for Learning Technologies
  • Vice President for Legal Services and Risk Management

The Vice President for Academic and Student Services directly supervises the four major academic functional units and provides supervisory oversight for the following positions:

  • Associate Vice President for Continuing Education
  • Associate Vice President for Curriculum Programs
  • Associate Vice President for Off-Campus Programs
  • Associate Vice President for Student Services
  • Executive Secretary, Academic & Student Services

The Associate Vice President for Student Services directly supervises the following positions:

  • Dean of Enrollment Management
  • Director of Counseling Services
  • Director of Student Financial Aid Services
  • Director of Student Activities
  • Executive Secretary, Student Services

The Associate Vice President for Curriculum Programs directly supervises the following positions:

  • Dean of Business Programs
  • Dean of College Transfer and General Education Programs
  • Dean of Engineering, Public Service and Applied Technology Programs
  • Dean of Health Programs
  • Director of Evening Programs
  • Data Management
  • Executive Secretary, Curriculum Programs

The Associate Vice President for Off-Campus Programs directly supervises the following position:

  • Director of Ft. Bragg Operations
  • Executive Secretary, Off-Campus Programs

The Associate Vice President for Continuing Education directly supervises the following positions:

  • Director of Basic Skills/HRD
  • Director of Business Services
  • Director of Community Services/Occupational Extension
  • Director of Emergency and Protective Services
  • Director of Industry Training
  • Senior Accounts Technician
  • Senior Secretary
  • Registrar, Continuing Education
  • Executive Secretary, Continuing Education
