Summary

Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is in compliance with this core requirement. A review of the Strategic Plan (2009-2014) reveals that FTCC has a mission statement, which is clearly defined and published throughout the school’s documentation.

Narrative

FTCC’s mission statement emphasizes the major goals of the institution. The FTCC mission is to

“Serve our community as a learning-centered institution to build a globally
competitive workforce supporting economic development.”

FTCC incorporates its mission statement into its major publications and disseminates to students, staff, and faculty through the FTCC home page, the Planning Guide, and the Fact Book. The mission statement is appropriate for higher education, as it highlights emphasis on student learning outcomes and community workforce development. FTCC’s mission statement is supplemented by the long-standing institutional Purpose Statement, which addresses teaching and learning activities throughout the institution. While FTCC conducts research for internal planning and assessment activities, FTCC is not a research institution that publishes for external purposes.
