Summary
This comprehensive statement is not required since Fayetteville Technical Community College’s mission statement does not include community/public service. However, as a steward of the community, Fayetteville Technical Community College (FTCC) is engaged in many community/public service activities.
Narrative
To support the local community, FTCC faculty, staff, and students have engaged in public service activities including but not limited to the following:
- Sharing of the College rose garden for public and private ceremonies
- Use of facilities by public and non-profit organizations
- Participation in philanthropic fundraising events
- Enhancing the cultural venue of the community with theatrical productions, art shows, concerts, speaker series, and other special events
- Health Fairs, Science Olympiad
- Mentoring at-risk children and minority males
- Support activities for military: Books for Baghdad, World’s Largest Baby Shower, Welcome Back Returning Troops
- Dental Clinic for examinations and cleaning
- Child Care Assistance Grants
- "FTCC Community Spotlight" radio show
- Free Small Business Counseling Services
- Free haircuts and manicures/pedicures for cancer survivors provided by Cosmetology students
